Mark Savage is Senior European Security Advisor for Willis Towers Watson, a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company that helps clients around the world turn risk into a path for growth. With roots dating back to 1828, Willis Towers Watson has 39,000 employees in more than 120 countries.

Mark has been employed by Willis Towers Watson for 30 years, during which he has performed a wide range of security roles. He is currently responsible for all aspects of physical security at over 100 Willis Towers Watson offices, as well as the operation of a global Security Control Centre, located in the UK.  According to Mark, "Consistency is the key to our success in taking into account different cultures, where physical security is fostered and embraced by all".  Mark pursues his goal of achieving high-level results across all offices by presenting security as an integral part of the company's risk appetite, rather than a series of restrictive rules.

"I am very proud to have passed the Security Institute Diploma in Security Management BTEC Level 5 course conducted by Perpetuity Training with an overall mark of Distinction. The course presented challenges, but a key to my success in completing the course was the quality and style of the printed course material, which I found easy to work my way through and the support I received.

As Senior European Security Advisor for Willis Towers Watson, my key objective is to oversee the implementation of security systems to ensure our employees are working in a safe and secure environment, and that our client's mission critical and confidential data is totally secure.

My responsibilities include risk assessment, system planning and project management. Through work experience I already had the practical knowledge and expertise to carry out all of these functions, but both my employers and I felt that in order to continue to develop my career, it would be wise to acquire a related professional qualification.

The training I received from Perpetuity Training has provided me with much more than just a Diploma. It has given me new insights into threat analysis, report writing and the 'bigger picture' in terms of the knock-on effects and benefits of the decisions I make. I have been able to apply all of this to my day-to-day work activities and share this new knowledge with colleagues.”
